In a little rambling garden courtyard just off the Princes Highway in Cobargo is Valiant Coffee. Serving a locally roasted Valiant 66 blend of coffee, spicy chai latte and dark, rich hot chocolate, using locally sourced Tilba jersey milk (Gold Medal award winner) or Aussie sourced oat, almond or soy. Valiant Coffee also has available healthy, ethical food like GF Cookies or amazing muffins.
James Bristow’s small business journey with Valiant Coffee started with an idea involving a 1960’s surf-style wooden caravan and a rustic 1966 Valiant Safari, both of which were in Alice Springs at the time. He had to drive the Valiant over Mt Kosciusko, transport the caravan on the Ghan to Melbourne, deal with a lost caravan wheel on the trip to NSW and then start his business, all just before the Black Summer bushfires hit our region.
Situated next to Via Luna Tiny Kitchen, amongst the vintage shops, book stores and art galleries Valiant Coffee is thriving and growing. A friendly place to meet and greet locals or visitors dropping in for great coffee and food, along with a chat.
